Two trends of thought

Earlier, I expressed the desire to pursue a twofold objective on this blog: first to call attention  to  the good news concerning Jesus Christ and secondly to inform the reader of skills, practices, and knowledge handed down from our ancestors. At first these may seem to be foreign  to each other. However, I believe the two subjects may fit quite well together. You see Jesus Christ said He was the son of God. In order for that statement to be true there must of necessity be a God. One of the best friends I ever had grew up in hard times. He had very little formal education  and could not read ; but he was plenty smart and could build beautiful wooden furniture. When he and I would discuss spiritual matters he would almost always say " Why anybody knows there's a God.!" What would have caused him say such a thing? I think it was because he spent his entire life close to God's creation. He saw plants grow from dry, withered seed; he observed the moon and stars in the wee hours of the  morning on his way to the milk barn; he watched as a calf was born and struggling upon wobble legs found his mothers life sustaining milk ; and he knew deep down in his heart THERE IS A GOD!!!
